Return Policy

Overview

Intent & Iron products are custom-produced through print-on-demand manufacturing. Because each item is manufactured specifically for your order after purchase, our return policy reflects the nature of made-to-order production.


Our Damage & Defect Guarantee

We stand behind the quality of our products. If your order arrives damaged or with a manufacturing defect, we will make it right.

What qualifies (Manufacturing Defects Only):

  • Torn seams, rips, or structural damage
  • Stains or discoloration from manufacturing
  • Print defects caused by production: misalignment, color bleeding, ink issues, or printing errors
  • Wrong item shipped
  • Packaging damage affecting product quality

What does NOT qualify:

  • Content choices: spelling, abbreviations, formatting, or design decisions
  • Sizing or fit issues
  • Personal preference or style changes
  • Wear, fading, or customer-caused damage
  • Damaged packaging (if product inside is undamaged)

How to claim:

  1. Contact us at returns@intentandiron.com within 30 days of delivery
  2. Include your order number
  3. Attach clear photos showing the defect from multiple angles
  4. Briefly describe the issue

We will review your claim and either:

  • Ship a replacement at no cost, or
  • Issue a full refund to your original payment method

What We Don't Accept Returns For

Due to the custom, made-to-order nature of print-on-demand production, the following are final sale and non-returnable:

Sizing & Fit Issues

  • Items that don't fit as expected
  • Changed mind about size after delivery
  • Fit preferences or comfort concerns

We provide detailed sizing charts on every product page. Please review carefully before purchase.

Color & Appearance Variations

  • Color differences from product photos (monitors display color differently)
  • Slight shade variations between dye lots
  • Natural texture or weave variations

Personal Preference

  • Style doesn't match expectations
  • Changed your mind about the design
  • Wanted something different

Return Process: Step-by-Step

Step 1: Contact Us Email us at returns@intentandiron.com with:

  • Your order number
  • Item description (product name & size/variant)
  • Reason for return

Step 2: Submit Photos Provide clear, well-lit photos showing:

  • The defect or damage
  • Multiple angles if possible
  • Any context (e.g., how it was packaged)

Step 3: We Review Our team will assess your claim within 2-3 business days and respond with next steps.

Step 4: Resolution We'll either:

  • Send you a replacement, or
  • Process a refund (we may request the original item be returned)

Shipping & Return Shipping

For Defective Items: When you report a manufacturing defect with photos, we handle the claim with our production partner. They will arrange a replacement directly to you at no cost. You do not need to return the defective item unless our production partner specifically requests it.

For Non-Defective Items: If your claim does not qualify as a manufacturing defect per our policy, it is final sale. We will not process returns, issue refunds, or arrange return shipping.


Why Our Policy Works This Way

Print-on-demand manufacturing means:

  • Products are made specifically for your order—they're not held in inventory
  • Once production begins (usually within 24 hours), the item cannot be stopped or modified
  • Each product is unique to your order, not returnable to stock
  • We stand by quality but can't accept returns for personal preference

We recommend:

  • Review sizing charts thoroughly before ordering
  • Check product photos carefully (they represent actual products)
  • Contact us with questions before purchasing if unsure about fit or size

Order Cancellations

Due to the made-to-order nature of our products, cancellations are generally not available once an order is placed, as production begins shortly after purchase.

However, if you realize you've made a mistake immediately after ordering, email us at returns@intentandiron.com right away. If we haven't begun production yet, we may be able to cancel and issue a refund. We cannot guarantee cancellations, as most orders begin production within a few hours.

After Production Starts: Once production begins, orders cannot be cancelled. Your order will be completed and shipped. For issues with your order, refer to our Return Policy.


International Orders & Special Policies

Brazil Customers in Brazil have the legal right to cancel orders within 7 calendar days of receipt under Brazilian consumer protection law ("direito de arrependimento"). To exercise this right, contact us within 7 days with your order number. We will arrange a return.

Other Countries We ship internationally, but return shipping costs and customs may apply to returns from outside the United States. Contact us to discuss options for your specific location.
